wardrobe styling
This service operates in the world of production. This includes commercial work both stills and video, editorial, print, TV, and film productions. Here is a typical breakdown for this service:
Initial consultation- here you will have the chance to give me the full rundown of your project and what you are looking for in terms of wardrobe. Clients will typically have a rough deck already created that captures the vision and mood for their project upon this call. On this call, we will also discuss the budget and timeline.
Virtual Style Boards- typically there will be a secondary meeting, maybe even more, where I will have prepared look books of what I am thinking for the project. We can talk further in depth of mood, tone, color palettes, etc. for each scene. Once we both feel good about where our heads are at for wardrobe, I will begin my shopping and sourcing.
Shopping / Sourcing (1-2 weeks)- I need at least 1-2 weeks (depending on how many talent and how many looks you are wanting) for shopping and sourcing. This time allows for online ordering and a few in-person shop days. A common misconception- stylists do have a stock wardrobe, but this is not where we pull the bulk of pieces for projects. Our stock acts as back-ups and basics. My stock wardrobe will not necessarily fit the talent nor the theme for every single project. Shopping is 100% necessary for production projects to ensure cohesive and fresh looks.
Fitting (4-8hr)- typically taking place the day before shoot day. On this day, I will be with the client or the production agency, and we will see all talent and fit them into the wardrobe I bring. I will style several different outfits, we will receive approvals, we will take photos of approved looks, and compile great back up options.
Shoot Day (10-12hr)- lights, camera, action! I will bring all wardrobe options as well as my on-set styling kit ensuring that wardrobe looks fantastic in every frame.
Wrap- this is a vital part of the job as a stylist where I handle all returns and calculate all purchases-returns=wardrobe cost. I compile all receipts related to the project as well as all company credit cards (if any), and submit all paperwork to the producer.
Pricing Breakdown: TBD based on size of production i.e how many talent, how many shoot days, and how many looks. NOTE: my rate is set for my time, skillset, and labor and is not including the actual budget for wardrobe. We will discuss your budget for wardrobe upon the initial consultation call
